So I'd like to thank you for the welcoming into the forum and apoligize in advance for my lengthy post.

My Vehicle: 86' Mazda B2000 2.0L Stock Config

My problem: It will crank like it wants to start but no backfire and No start.

Steps I have followed:

Checked for spark (Replaced Distributer Cap , Rotor and Coil Pack . White spark not blue)

Checked for fuel (some Plugs are a little wetter than others)

Checked compression ( Compression Is good)

Timing ( everything is TDC rotar is at 9' Oclock at TDC and new timing belt)

I drove this truck from Washington to Arkansas , It started to sputter on acceleration and fouled plugs, but had its moments where it ran fine. I took the carb off and cleaned it and did timing all in one go and ever since I have not had it able to run. I even tried to push start the darn thing. A few things i have noticed is that when trying to start it it sprays fuel out the carb. removed the co2 sensor to see if that was a problem. I tried to follow the hose diagram best i could but could a misplaced hose here really stop from even a sputter? I have posted this truck for sale for 800 bucks because i have no way to get to work . i have a quarter to my name . Any help is appreciated.!

Is the spark plug wire at 9 o'clock going to #1 cylinder?

Check too see if the timing belt has jumped timing and has overrun the cam/crank sprocket. The trucks aren't supposed to spray fuel out of the carburetors.

The rotor is at 9 oclock when it is at piston 1 and firing order is 1342 , i have much better spark but yes the timing belt jumped the cam sprocket, have then tension-er as tight on the belt as possible but it still loosened up. also is T117 the right belt for this engine, I have not been happy with the parts I have recieved from oreillys. How can i make sure this belt is tight ? and prevent it from jumping.

I think you are going to find that when you take off the old belt some of the teeth are stripped.

old belt was fine, i have great spark but the plugs are wet ? is my timing still off?

If your cam and crank marks are lined up then how is it that the cam sprocket showed it was off one or more teeth?

Like I said, these engines aren't supposed to spit back fuel through the intake manifold.

Just saying.

hmmmm well i couldnt get them to line up other than 1 tooth because when the belt tightened it would move the crank sprocket a tooth. Ill tear it back down but its hard to do too much work when its 104 outside! thanks for the help!

When you line everything up, the slack needs to be on the tensioner side so when you release the tensioner bolt it pulls the slack out of that direction.

You kind of need to rotate the crank clockwise, and rotate the cam backwards to get all the slack on the tensioner side.

Hope that helps.
