When I removed my front brake lines to do other work, I had problems bleeding the front brakes. Both of my bleeders were siezed, so I had to bleed by loosening off the brake hose banjo at the caliper. But to bleed properly, I had to orient the caliper so that the banjo bolt was at the top of the piston, and I used a piece of wood or something to keep the caliper from closing (to simulate a brake rotor), once I got the air out, I put it back on, required some pumping to get the pads to touch the rotor, and its been good since. I am not sure if the bleeders are right on the top of the pistons though.
Why did you have to change calipers in the first place? Maybe you are having master cylinder issues?
