Question: Do you think you will ever finish this project?

The reason I ask is that I have seen many projects that are done by one person who does lots, and lots of custom, and detailed work, then ends up either selling it all off, or just letting it sit.

I've been following your build since the start, and I'm really hoping that you WILL finish it, but have you ever thought to maybe change something that you have been thinking about making into maybe a little simpler part?

I know exactly where you are on this as I have done some projects, and the idea's in my head just keep on snowballing until I think I will go mad.

So I try to tastefully compromise some of the idea's just to get the project finished.

One project I'm currently working on is an 80 Mustang that I have had for years, in fact I sold it, and recently traded back for it. Its one of those things that has snowballed, but I'm almost finished

The biggest part of this outside on installing the initial wide body kit is to chop the top about three inches. Which I will be doing very soon.

So what do you think, any time line/date as to when you think you will be done with this awesome project?

Yeah i hope to finish this, but predicting a timeline at this stage is a hard one. Realistically, things like deciding to go turbo have added to the time and cost immensely, and the biggest thing holding me back now is the cost. For a bit of background context, for the first year or so of the build, i was earning ok money, then my work contract ended and i haven't actually worked a proper job since feb last year, because there's essentially no jobs available at the moment in my profession these days where i live. Ultimately i think that although times have been tough over this period, its forced me to change directions completely with my career and pursue design and fabrication and being my own boss, which I think long term that doing what I love will be more satisfying and rewarding than simply doing a job I enjoy. My previous work was advising manufacturers with operations and business improvements, which i very rarely got to use my engineering skills/knowledge (its mostly management and process change, and a bit of technical problem solving, but not very often needing any engineered design solutions from me), which is quite different to now designing and fabricating things. As an example of one of the things I'm now doing, here's one of my projects I've just launched, my Airbagged Trailers. Please check it out and let me know what you think.

I understand where your comming from. I had a really good job, and the go fast parts were comming in almost weekly.

Then the contract went away, and I had to tone it down a bit.

Anyway, like you I'm going to start my own business, and begin wrenching for a living. I am really sick of working for people, and as of late, really insane people.

Seems like the crazier people are the higher up in management they place them. This don't work too well with my personality.

So good luck to both of us. I'll have to check out your link at another time as this was my last post to check before signing off for today.........cheers.

Self employment def has its hardships but it also has its benefits. I was working for a world famous custom semi truck shop and still founf myself walking out a year and a half into it. Its like they say with self employment... "work like most people wont so you can live like most people cant"

I want an enclosed trailer like that

Looks like this amazing project has done as I feared............

Lots of great projects like this one gets so complicated, and expensive that it spirals out of control, and never gets finished.

I hope this isn't the case..............

I was wondering about this truck a week or two ago.
