May just try out the powder coating and see how it turns out. Haven't decided yet!

would be a waste of time and money to have the header powder coated as the powder coating will just burn and come off due to high heat. Ceramic coating would be a better option, get in contact with they are reasonable, theres a place in Camden TN that is a sells rep of Jet-Hot, Camden Speed Barn, 500 US 70 Bypass 662-233-2301 hope this info helps

First take your engine disassembled to the machine shop. Have them check to see if your engine needs to be bored, and the crank turned as you will need to know the number on these to order the right parts.

Buying a new head is a good way to go, which is what I did. Price is $350 with no core charge.

Be sure to get a complete engine rebuild kit with the water pump, and oil pump, freeze plugs. I've used these guys three times with good service, and parts.

When your waiting on the machine shop to get your parts back to you do buy a Haynes, or Chilton book, and clean out your engine bay, as this is the best time to do it. You can try to match the color of the truck, or just go with low gloss black {can't go wrong with that}.

I would suggest buying a sleeve for the front crankshaft as well as the rear if your engine has lots of miles on it. NO oil leaks in the future is a good thing.

Buy a new PCV valve from MAZDA, not Autozone, etc. unless you want to fog the neighborhood again with smoke.

Do these things first THEN, start asking questions about what you want to do next.
