Ok, so being new to the site I made a few random posts about bits and pieces here and there about my truck. I bought this 86' B2200 from a kid in Port Alberni, B.C. not knowing how serious the work was going to be. Everything appeared ok and the weather was gloomy so I took the truck for $1000.
Known details at time of purchase.
Truck has Firestone air bags, size unknown. They appear to have some weathering, and later on I realized there is a leak somewhere, most likely in the lines?
Truck had a new looking black grille, turned out the honeycombing had been cut and it was re painted recently.
Truck had a bumper of sorts, seemed ok.
Interior had an old 86 brown carpet, seat belts with chipped off black paint, and the entire interior otherwise had been sprayed black. All the black is peeling and the brown is showing through. All the shotty work can be seen from my photos, link will be posted at the end.
The truck appeared to have most body work done and was primed. I took it home and started finishing the sanding and found pinholes galore, as well as rust and many many other surprises.
Well, I guess Im in for a ride. so far I have removed the front left fender and am replacing it with a wrecker part. Too much rust, front right fender Im afraid to take off to find more rust. Found a huge rusted hole on the left poking through to the cab. Patched it up, also seen in photos.
Yesterday I grabbed a complete grey interior from an 89 b2200. I will be installing it this weekend. No scratches or nicks, and it didnt look smoked in. I already took the carpet from another 89. Just need door panels now to be complete. Back seats will be gone still for room for a custom sub box to hold 3 12s.
I have ordered a new chrome grill, set to be here in 2 days, and a headlight conversion kit for h7 bulbs. still need bumper, tail lights, and corner lights. Would appreciate info on where to order clear corner lights from. Also need front left fender replaced still.
I will post some more details as they come, in the meantime have a look at what I left it at a month ago.
