pathfinder hell

Ok guys i have a 95 nissan pathfinder 4x4 been a good truck for the 4 years i have had it but yesterday it decided to do something stupid my girl took it across the street to the gas station and she said when she hit the gas the rpms dropped then picked up she got back shut it off and it wouldnt start after it sat for a while it started and i havent been able to get it to happen again no clue what caused this and its got me stumped its her daily ride and i really dont want this to happen to her at school work or worst case a gas station at night when i cant get to her any input will help



when it started back up there was a little black smoak not much i checked for water in the oil nothing oil is clean has all fluids all are clean its just one of those crazy things that just happened

sounds fuel related to me. i would check the fuel filter and maybe fuel pump also. cheapest part first is a good way to go.

id make sure she didn't put diesel in it first. An easy way to check if it has to do with fuel or motor is to get a pressurized fuel injection cleaner and run it inplace of the pump and tank at the motor. If it runs you know its something to do with pump or fuel, if not its in/on the motor somewhere.

how low on gas was it? if it was low enough might of gotten air in the gas line.

I know she didnt put diesel in it because she filled it from almost empty and it was on a quarter tank when it happend after i got off work i was going to look at it and it started right up like nothing was wrong with it and it just happend a few minutes ago to us at burger king got out checked everything i could think of and nothing wiggled the wires off the battery and she fired tomorrow im going to clean the corrosion off the battery put new connectors on it and see if she will run fine after that if so i can start drivin my mini again so lets hope so:)
