Hey everyone! I'm in need of some help... I've currently got a 1987 b2600 4x4, and I've run into some issues with the motor and transfer case, so Instead of fixing It, I've decided to do a full conversion. I have a spare drivetrain in a 1994 Chevy 1500 4x4. This is a complete truck, 350 ci, automatic transmission, transfer case, front and rear end, its all there. Now here is the hard part I want to take this entire drivetrain, and pack It all into my sexy lil Mazda! I've already solved one problem, there is no room for a rad or fan, but I acquired a custom built baja deck from a Toyota, which just happened to have a 350 under the hood so therefore this deck is equipped with a rad cradle to mount the rad along with electric fan. I have a friend who is sure he can make the computer and wiring work, so all I'm left with Is well... making everything fit. If anybody has any hints or tips they would be greatly appreciated. The main issue I thinly Im going to have problems with is the front end. In this year of Chevy, they have independent front ends, that's right, no straight axle, so, I have to figure out how to mount that front end into my Mazda. Motor mounts and tranny mounts are going to be custom fabricated in my shop, I'm going to have the driveshaft professionally shortened at a local shop in my city who specializes in driveshafts. I'm goings to cut off the suspension boots on the rear axle and move them In further to compensate for the narrow frame of the mazda. So pretty much I am just stuck at the front end. I don't know how to mal this work, I'm at a dead end. Any suggestions or thoughts? And for those who are Interested in my progress, I am planning on starting a blog to follow my progress and downfalls along the way, I cant wait for the finishes product!
