im finally making a build thread!

i think is about time i make a rebuild thread, i have made other threads or stuff that ive done to the truck and ive got the webcam setup when im in the garage but not alot you can see

so ill start with re posting the treads i have already started to get everyone up to speed

this was 2010

and now im on to the roll pan, but before i did it i decided i would make my own intergrip panel clamps so i looked up some pics and got cutting and drilling and made my own with stuff i had laying around the garage




after i finished those it was time to try them out


yes it looks like its not lining up but that was all taken care of before i welded it

and here is the pan all welded, i didnt finish welding the across the top edge of the pan, its almost done just had to bail in a hurry didnt take a pic but heres what it looks like


all killer no filler


so thats where im at right now it will be a really slow process

when ever im in the garage working on it i will turn on the webcam and anyone that wants watch me work really slow can just click the link

Well, progress may be slow but the quality looks very good! The tailgate hinge is a clever idea for sure. And I can always appreciate less body filler.

im going to do as much as i can before i have to start buying the expensive stuff, it'll also get me motivated to do more work and buy the parts i need.
and im also being picky with what im doing want to take my time with it so i dont mess anything up and this will be it's final build, i eventually want to build something else but want to have this for the weekends and take to shows

That web cam is pretty cool. Looks like you are tac welding roll pan-right at middle of tailgate. SUPPOSE IF I TYPE LOUDLY IT STILL WONT BOTHER YOU LOL.

i forgot one thing i did to it
i flipped the tailgate handle,used a an old tailgate i had from a parts truck cut out the handle portion, lined it up and welded it, and i also pull out the latches and flipped the rods so the would line up with the attachment points on the handle,
just need to get a tailgate now, and have the liner resprayed

i havent done much work on the truck, just a bit more welding on the roll pan, which is almost finished

but i did go to the local swap meet, i wasnt expecting to find anything special, i was basically going for a carbide bit and all sorts of sanding discs.

but i did manage to score a 60 something ford galaxy dash and 2 rust free tailgates all for 80$

and my buddy scored n.i.b. hardbody 4x4 fenders and street rod mirrors

just a small update.
got the hinges and roll pan done
fresh tailgate mounted and in the process of shaving the tailgate handle
and i ordered and received my MMW control arms, powder coated and jeebus joints also got them shortened 1.5" to correct for the 3/4" the drop spindles push the wheels out and an added 3/4" for extra room for wheels
not much has been done and its a slow process
