I'll have to do some searching to locate my old pics. Sadly I know many of my body pics are gone. back in 2006 I bought a stock white 86 b2000 long bed. Had the Fe sohc and a 5 speed manual. Completely rebuilt with just a few hundred miles on it. That was the first thing to go! After doing some research I found that the f2 bolted in its place. Hello free displacement but what's this? The f2 had a varriation that came turbo charged. Oh yes! 19 wih a turbocharged mini truck why not? hondas do this all the time with astronomical power numbers. But it wasn't enouh. I HAD to be better than a Honda. This is a Mazda after all. And then as if delivered by a baby riding a unicorn with Bacon wings... Fe-dohc. Miracles do happen. Snatched from a 2001 sportage for just $150 with only 70k. SCORE! to transfer the power, a Mazda rx7 turbo II 5 speed. Now with a set up like that I couldn't handle single tire fires so I found a tortion type LSD from a rx7 gtu for $75. And stuffed that in place of my stock spider gears that looked as if they were NHL rejects. This became my mazdaspeed2000. Next came the body. To many blemishes protruding from such an elegant body. Time for a little cosmetic surgery. NURSE! My wrench please. Door handles, emblems, locks, gas door, antenna, rear bumper, tailgate "mazda"... Gone. All to accentuate that long sleek look I desired. Up front the non chrome grill with a set of flush 2002 ranger headlights without the amber turn signals for $35. Why non chrome? Because I procured a Toyota 4runner Chrome front bumper, brand new for $75. Well the front is set. What about the back? I spent long hours in junk yards up and down I-5 searching, nay, scrounging in the mud for the perfect set of tails. It must have been fate when i tripped over a Cadillac exhaust. Because when i looked up I saw them. A set of complete red non Cadillac branded slits. As i brushed the dirt away I was giddy over the sight of the Chrome housing. "My precious" I declared sinisterly. The last bit was the frame. There is just something about a dancing vehicle that delights the senses to every Hispanic! So naturally I had to bag mine! C notches in back, drop lower control arms, drop spindlesin front as well as plates for my bags. All powered by a belt driven York air compressor modified to run off an electric motor. Awe, quiet I had to keep things old school with a ps1 controller for my bag system along with the 15 inch Chrome pathfinders. Now I have to mention, these are all collected parts and besides the frame, body, suspension, and rear axle. Are not connected to the truck. Oh but don't think I'm a fibber. I do have all these parts and they will all come together in a great symphony! Things that I'm yet to get are as follows; Chrome front lower valance for my Toyota bumper, surcharger for the Fe-dohc, HID's for the ranger lights, led's for the cadi tails, flame thrower for the tail pipes, bigger wheels, 4 link the rear suspension, and an interior. Things that I'm researching; magnetic suspension in place of bags, disc brake conversion for the rear, a better air delivery system (if I don't proceed with magnetic suspension), dash boards that fit the general dimensions of the cab, an interior in general, and an automatic hard top convertible. As for now It's a mild build with aspirations of becoming wild. I'm a tinkerer. Meaning I enjoy the build more than the completion This is my "LOWLA".
