Well, I've named my truck Candi. Mostly due to the fact that this one is meant to be strictly eye candy, and not
so much about function. She's a 90 B2200. Here's some pics as I first got 'er.
This past weekend, I knew I had four days off for Easter... so I flew at 'er with the orbital and the air sander. Got it all knocked down to bare metal in three days, did some filler work and a little bit of metal repair, and here she sits. I used PPG DP50LF Epoxy primer, then PPG Delfleet Evolution high build, and after that was all done, I went over it with this:
I did it all wet on wet. For those who don't know, wet on wet means spraying everything within the alloted open times, no sanding in between. Worked like a charm, everything laid out nicely. I sprayed it in the driveway, and it was maybe a little cold to be painting (15*C) but I just left everything for longer in between coats. Here is the semi finished product.
My plans in the next while are some new wheels, steelies. Ones that I will be getting powdercoated red and putting a chrome trim ring on. What can I say, I'm a hot rod guy at heart. Also will be a 4x4 box, shaved and tubbed in preparation for a four link and bag setup. I have a fuel cell for it that will go in at the same time. My whole plan for it is a mildly built SBF and an AOD. Maybe a T-5, but I haven't decided yet. Anyway, thanks for looking! I'll keep updated as I go.
