So I picked up a 97 Ranger, Its a 2wd with a lil 2.3l 4 cyl.. Basically base model pick up with an extended cab as its sole factory option haha. Has 2xxxxx miles on it. Ran like shit when I picked it up 2 days ago, Did a small tune up today plugs wires and air filter. truck likterally fires right up and purrrrrrrs like a kitten. Going to do a timing belt on it next weekend. I have an injected 302 for it when I finally blow this 4 banger up. I have a full width for the front and a 9" with disc for the rear. Currently undecided on wether or not Im going to run a manual or an Auto trans as I have both. Most likely run a manual, The truck is a 5 spd right now. I will be doing a radius arm up front and welding the rear end with a lincoln locker Until this motor blows, Going to be using this truck in Tuff truck competitons and use it in mild rock crawling events, and basically make it a hardcore runner. I will be tubing the whole truck, Minor Exo skeleton and major cage. Only got a few shots of the truck so far. Someone decided to run a Bosh copper plug in this thing lmao, When OE calls for a Platinum and Gap is .044'' annnnd these were rocking a .066" gap lol. the plug wires literally all broke in one way or another, and Ford decided to be brilliant and design the engine to where you have to pull the intake manifold to change the intake plugs... haha, It only took a few minutes more but still lol uper lame.
Going to be pulling the interior out, Ill probly leave the door panels and rear panels, But change the color, and Im pulling the dash and making a custom gauge pod
My future powerplant, patiently awaint the death of the 2.3
