Figured I would post up some updated pics of what is going on with my 83. I have 2 trucks, 2 seperate builds, this is a rebuild of the truck I used to drive. I am rebuilding it to be a daily driven show truck. My boy Bobby Martins at Sadistic Iron Werks is building the control arms, and my boy Travis at Overspray Customs will be doing the paintjob. So far I built a whole new 4 link with heim joints, went through my transmission, the block is currently at the machine shop, I rebuilt the hubs with all new bearings, calipers and brakes, painted the factory dash black, had the wheels and 4 link painted scarlett red, I undercoated the engine bay and the back of the frame and I am currently running an EZ wiring kit throughout the truck to replace the factory harness. I bought a set of doors from a junkyard that have no holes cut for speakers and will not be cut up, I shaved the lock but I am keeping the handles and I installed a keyless entry kit. I will be running 3 Infinity Kappa 4" speakers, 2 Kappa 6.5" speakers, 2 1" Kappa tweaters, and a Pioneer Premier shallow sub with all Stinger wiring. I bought an aluminum 8.5 gallon tank and dual Viair 480 compressors, everything will be hardlined and I am running 8 GC 350s. I built a "floating" center console that will house 10 switches, 2 Viair dual needle gauges, and my Ipod. After it gets painted it will be going to Marco Upholstery in Hutto, Tx to get the stock bench seat reupholstered, shag carpet laid down, and a new headliner. I know I missed a lot and I still have a lot to go but onto the pics, I can't believe that I am taking it to the level it will be at!

My logo on the doors and the Mazda logo on the tailgate will be painted like brushed aluminum

Mind if i pick your brain for bumper designs? I'm stuck on it cause id like something nice and looks factory, but with out the factory crap one lol.

Thanks Jenko.

Filigree, I am running the factory front bumper without the end caps. But I think with little modification a Nissan Hardbody bumper would look sick!

My dad volunteered to smooth out my block before it went to the machine shop. The engine will also be getting painted scarlett red. It should be ready to be picked up from the machine shop this week and then we will begin the paint work and rebuild. It's going to be nice to get the gas mileage these little engines produced. In 1983 they were advertised to get 38 mpg. I was getting around 25 with the carburetor not being tuned right because the engine was burning oil and fouling out my plugs. Turned out that one of the previous owners replaced the rings and put the wrong rings in it. On every piston the 2nd ring was broken. I am running a weber carburator and open exhaust. The exhaust is open because I am running a Harley Davidson fishtail exhaust pipe up out of the bed with a flame thrower kit. Onto the pics...

This is what the truck looked like when it was originally bagged back in the day, 2001 I believe. I am bring some of the original builders styling back and adding mine. The original builder and I have become pretty good friends and we see eye to eye on a lot of things when it comes to trucks.

The old GTO cover fit on the Mazda rear no problem? Looks like this is going to be a nice build.

The original builder welded studs to the axle to mount the GTO housing cover. It's just there for looks. But it matches the air cleaner real nice
