So, last weekend I drove to visit my dad and meet up with a guy off of CL. Been talkin with him for about 3 weeks, and once I had a weekend off, it was a "GO". So, I went.
Found an '88 B2200 Single cab. Saw LOTS of potential here. There's PLENTY I dont like, and there's PLENTY I do. I'll post some pics, most were taken by him, except last 2.

Phantom grille in chrome shell. Its in poor shape. Driver's corner is cracked pretty bad. I'll get a paintable shell and redo it with the billet.

Here's the engine. It's not running atm. I have a bad carb. If you pour gas into it, she will fire up immediately. And DAMN shes got some grunt. If you look, there's a brand new PaceSetter header on there, with the damn decal on the firewall too. She's got brand new coil, and MASSIVE plug wires. But still, a bad carb.

This has got to be the SHITTIEST mazda interior I have EVER seen. No lie. This is BAD. REAL BAD. I think I still have the 'wrap-over' door panels from 2 mazdas ago. If not, I'll look for more, or make new ones. The dash...has to go. The main part is great. No cracks or anything, just EVERYTHING attached to it is painted blue and/or white. Kinda BLOWS. I will also get a new steering wheel. There's a grant one I really like that I may get. (PS...no idea what those seats are from, but they are ON THE FLOOR....but they are comfy, LMAO)

Another shot of interior. Also needs a shifter knob. I may swap this whole thing over to my RX-7 short throw shifter. Its got a knob thats permanently attached. LOL.

Here's a pic at the apartment. Nice lil scoop on the hood, right? No? I didnt think so either. But, after driving from Mobile to Baton Rouge, staring at it in the rearview, I think its growing on me. Around the corners you can see its moulding job cracking a little, but thats an easy fix. If I take this off, I'll swap or buy a B2600i hood. Kinda like those hoods a lot.

And the last, a shot of the ass. NOT a reason I wanted the truck. In fact, I didnt see this until I went get it. I do NOT like tilted boxes in a t'gate, and I do NOT like roll pans on a mazda. I actually like the stock ass of one. I dont know why, but I do. As far as a tailgate, I REALLY like the '86/'87 B2000 embossed MAZDA gate. I have the embossed MAZDA from an old gate, so I could put it in a stock tailgate. OR....I thought about this once or twice...what if the word MAZDA is embossed in that roll pan? If I did that I'd want the license box centered and straight...but under the handle. Just a thought, one of MILLIONS im having for this truck.

Still have plenty, PLENTY work ahead of me tho. Just a toy to fill the garage for a lil while. This truck doesnt have A/C, i'd like to put that in. Shes just dropped on blocks in the rear, not sure yet about front, havent looked yet. There's some body work, bottom rear section of passenger side of cab and the door, going onto the front side of the bed, maybe 2 inches from the bottom. The very rear corner of the driver's side of the bed has a dent, about a foot long or so. The roll pan, very top edge, in the center, but slightly to the left, has a lil dent. Front bumper setup needs work, and the fenders too. The cowl/hood hit, but the hood needs to be moved forward 1/8th of an inch or so, no biggie.

Im always gonna be lookin for stuff for this truck, Interior, Exterior, Body, Bumper, Suspension, Engine, wheels, everything. From a Weber, to Boss, to Grant, to American Racing, to Nology, to..hell...anything for a mazda...let me know what ya got!

Ive always been a fan of the billet in the chrome shell myself, in the pictures it looks good. This should be a fun project, hope to see you put a little TLC into it.

The truck will get revamped pretty soon. 1st is mechanical/running issues. Then is interior strip/remodel. After will be the exterior. I would ABSOLUTELY love to change over to a 5 lug, but not 100% sure on how I'd do the rear.

I have PLENTY things to change or whatever, but that'll come in due time. She'll get a flat/gunmetal finish when body is straight, including the grille. I will order a stock paintable one soon, and move the billet over to that. I'll need to do some heavy polishing to parts of the grille, but I think it will work out.
