I am prepping for a traditional bd of 2 3/4 inch i was wondering if i still need to z the frame in the front after my bd? I have seen pics of layed out trucks that seem higher in front then in the rear i want mine to lay evenly from front to rear so my question is after my bd do i still need to z the frame in front to keep my front xmember from keeping me from laying out evenly and if i do z it do i need to make up for this when i drop my frame horns? Can anybody point me in the right direction as far as steps to take and measurements etc... thanks alot, Cory

if it lays flat now it will lay flat bd.

Bodydropping it wont change the way it lays out. You either have to z the frame or make a new thinner engine crossmember.

Or drag off some of the factory member

^^^^ Not recommended. If you drag off that much, the structural integrity of the crossmember is severely hindered. Just make a new one. Its not hard

So a guy could simply just fab up a new cross member and the front will lay even with the back?

Simply? Not really, but its not hard. I wish it was as easy as pulling the old one and making a thinner one and bolting it in, but to get the mazda to lay flat, you have to go into the bolt holes of the crossmember. So you could weld the holes closed and drill new ones a 1/2" higher, then install the new thinner crossmember. So its not simple, but its not hard either

Buy my stock floor chassis, and save yourself a lot of trouble!
