Bought a lowered 2200, converting it to a drift truck this winter.

All that I've been able to do so far as i've had it a mere 2 months is fixed some rotted frame and welded the diff. I barely made the last drift night of the season, with a stock engine and bad suspension, didn't do as bad as i thought.

Need some ideas. What kind of colour scheme should i do here? I was thinking black everything or army green with black rims (biggest they can be for now is 17" as that is the tires size i have to use)

Cut out about 18" of the rotted frame and replaced it with 3/16 HSR tubing. Much stronger than the original frame, not sure what gauge but it was extremely small.

None of your photos are showing up for me. I like these trucks two toned with the split right on the body line.

Weird? Thanks for mentioning this. I pulled the engine today and have pics yet unposted. Would you happen to know if there is a thread or someone who has installed a fuel injected V8? All i can find for engines is the fuel injected 302 but that is supposedly a nightmare to wire. Any advice?

Could do coilovers here or possibly replace the leaf with a heavy leaf acting as stiff suspension.

if you are gonna do fuel injected v-8, i would go with and ls chevy motor...get one out of a pickup or something, swap the intake for the ls1 intake and go from there...Im sure there are a hundred other things you will have to do but that would be the start...you wont have to cut the firewall, and those motors are a dime a dozen.

How much of a job was it moving your motor mounts? Was there any other mods you had to do? Like room for the Rad or anything?

Found a good 5.7L Vortec today. They want 500+ with it pulled and a compression test, reasonable?

Sounds like a good deal if you get the harness and ecu with it. Strong motors.
