ah hell... another trailer

i know, matching mini truck trailers seem to be the "in" thing right now, but i'm not planning just any trailer... i have an idea that i havent seen done yet... as some of you know i've been stripping down and parting out the purple 87 single cab. yes this truck.



well i've done most of this myself, with the exception of one friend who has been over a few times to help, and with the exception of topless who came and pulled the motor out with one of his buddies. i'm not going to go into full detail of what i'm doing. but i will give you this weeks progress. in picture form.


after we finished cleaning out the engine bay of everything i started on the interior










then i cut the nose off






followed by making the cab a convertible. poorly done, but i dont care as the majority of the cab itself is going to the scrapper






then i pulled the doors off, and cut the cab, splitting the front half from what was left intentionally of the back wall








this is where i shall stop for now, as the only other pictures i have after this are mock up pics of exactly how i plan to have this trailer build unfold.

Why not put up a pic to give us a general idea of what your wanting to do?

Well being that I've not seen this done before, if i throw it all out there someone with more time/money could do what I'm planning, and could do it before me and I'd like to have it finished, or close enough to complete before i let the cat out of the bag completely for someone else to make their own.

It sounds cool but I don't know if I'm picturing it right. Has anyone built a matching mini trailer yet?

I'm planning something similar, and by similar i mean the trailer being made out of the same vehicle as the tow vehicle, but otherwise my plan has its own design

Yes i know i kinda just let my cat out of the bag but, this build still has a way to go before its finished.

What are u gonna do under the front fenders? Like is it gonna have 4 wheels? Or are you gonna chop them to a slant? I dig the idea and it puts a new spin on the whole mini trailer thing with u having incorporated the front end in...

Tires will go up in the front fenders, and will get mounted with an idea i have in my head to allow them to be locked in a layd out position, but if i need a tire as a spare they will be able to drop down to be removed. A box will get built for under the hood as a dry storage/weather protected box with the hood opening like stock to give access to the storage box. I have plans for air on the trailer and a 2 link to be able to lay it out. And possibly a built in ice box in the front of the bed with built in drain plug.

thats a awsome idea i dig it but it almost looks like a stock truck with no roof its weird how its missing a cab but looks like a complete truck
