It's made by xs power. I got it when I bought the motor. The wastegate flange was already welded on it. It's not the ideal location but it works. I didn't have enough clearance with the internal wastegate for the 3 inch down pipe.

Ah okay.

A lesson learned for me over the last weekend. Since my top end is completely apart now , you cant run 16 degrees total timing under boost with a 11.2:1 compression engine. I turned it down to 16 degrees because MS was set a almost 30 degrees total timing with 26psi on the F2 but its compression was way lower, like 7.8:1..... I knew it had to be dropped some but geez. So if i had not have had 2618-t61 Forged Aluminum pistons, the detonation sure would have killed the pistons and the rings. But what i have to replace is, Head Gasket and my plugs. It totally destroyed the plugs and the head gasket. And it all happened so fast, 2nd gear roll, only intended to do a quick WOT snap, and all of a sudden 7500rpm lots of tire smoke and pop goes the weasel and coolant out the exhaust.! I have since been told, and i little to late haha, from people who run High Comp FE's, to start at 3-5 Degrees total timing and no more than 8 on pump and i have since installed a 7psi wastegate instead of the 14.5psi. So i try again. Sucks

Well, its back together and have 500+ miles on it so far and doing good. Think im gonna have to do something about my HLA's soon though. The oil is bleeding out of them, and they rattle on start up. They like to do it as well at about 3k. Guess ill have to take them apart and clean them. 16 of them new are around 200!

500 miles on it in a week? That's alot of driving

Well yeah, I work 2 jobs. I have a part time job at Firestone from 8:30am-2:00pm, and my full time Job at Hogan Lease (Heavy Truck Tech/2nd shift Lead Man) from 3:00pm-11:30pm. So i work 75hrs a week roughly Mon-Fri and Firestone is 25 miles from my house + 15 from there to Hogan. 80 miles a day = 400 miles not including what i have drove this weekend. On a side note the truck has quite a bit of low end torque. And is pretty zippy, definitely not extremely fast with only 6.5 psi. It definitely doesn't struggle to pull its on weight. So far im pleased, just need more boost once it is broke in. And ill shoot a video once its broke in as well.

Thank You for all of the necessary technical information that you are providing. I am definitely interested in the kia swap. IDK whether to rebuild it 1st though. I think I am going to do just as you suggested and go with a normally aspirated kia motor from the JY, 1st.

I am going to find one that is still in decent shape and get the harness too. Can you please provide more information on what else besides the wire harness I will need to rob from the Kia sportage? I mean what else in the way of engine management, like on board ECU? or is it just a mega squirt set-up.

I am just so tired of throwing money away !! (out of the exhaust pipe.) and not even being able to get outta the way. I am only getting 16-20 mpg on average. I have a 3.1 liter in my 2001 malibu and I would to have this same motor in the B2200, but the kia swap looks way more do-able.

Oh What Blasphemy !! And GM to top it off !! Hahah, Anyways, If you go to your local Pull-A-Part and grab one great, but just about everyone in there has issues. Head gaskets being blown being #1 and just about all of them have been HOT if that is the case. So be careful which one you choose. But they can be had pretty cheap. Word of advice, Check the bearings while its out, REPLACE THEM ALONG WITH ALL ENGINE GASKETS AND HAVE THE HEAD CHECKED AND NEW SEALS INSTALLED IF ITS NOT JUNK. If the bottom of the head is warped it can be fixed. If the Top is warped, it will make a good anchor. As far as piston rings go, look at the ridge at the top of the cylinder and make a judgement call on replacement. If you can grab the ridge with your finger nail there is some wear there that ME PERSONALLY, would attend to. But, if your that deep checking everything just freshen the entire engine up. Ebay will be your best friend. Find the KIA that looks to be COMPLETE under the hood. If the engine wiring harness is attached to it, TAKE IT, along with the ECU which includes all sensors like MAF, o2's and so forth (EGR and EVAP crap if you have strict emission laws if need be. But, if the EGR and EVAP stuff is not there, you'll never know as you wont see the MIL and it wont run bad) . You can use the Kia clutch setup, but i have no clue if you can use the Kia clutch disk. I have always bought the B2200 disk and stuck it in the kia Flywheel. Use your B2200 oil pan and pickup tube. All your B2200 accessories will bolt up to the Kia Block, but if you choose to go that route, you need to Re-Drill your B2200 balancer to fit the Kia Timing Sprocket. Or you can grab all the kia crap and use it along with some extra sweat. You WILL NOT, be able to use your b2200 fan idler with the FE3 even though it bolt on, with the pulley on it, it interferes with the KIA T-Stat housing. Mine is on just so i can have the alternator adjustment. So if you have a/c and want it, and want to keep a clutch fan, ya got some work ahead of you. Get all the KIA stuff and make it work. All thought, I have Never used the Kia accessories, so its all Greek to me. But its very straight forward, bolts in just like the engine you got. Hook up all your ECU grounds and Powers. There should be a Constant power from battery voltage to the ECU and a switched power. I can post up a wiring schematic for the KIA SPORTAGE for you when you need it or for anyone else for that matter.
