My pickup currently is a flat deck work truck, it hauls firewood etc but is also my off road bush truck. It doesn't get abused and scrapped against rocks or trees. I'm not a hard core off road enthusiast so i'm confused about front and rear dif ratios. My truck is very long legged (high geared) and my stock 2.6l will struggle with my bigger tires and I care more for grunt and torque compared to speed, my truck tops out at 120km/hr with 235 75r15 tires. From what I understand I have 4.30 gear ratios so what would happen if I had lower gears. I want to be able to do highway speeds (100kph) with 32" or 33" tires so will lower gears allow me to do that and if so which ratio? Can and where would I get new gears to go in my stock dif housing? Like I said, I know next to nothing when I comes to difs so if this is obvious im sorry. It is also my DD next September.
