so, havent had a chance to post any pictures, and really havent had time to work on it, but i have not been able to drive it either because it lost all heat! and as some of you may know its pretty cold in georgia right now which makes me leave it parked. but i did a head gasket, intake gaskets valve guide seals, and timing belt and tensioners, right after that it lost heat, ive tried 3 different thermostats with different temperatures, any other ideas for my lack of heat?

Glad you're back safely. Despite the cold, you've done a lot. These trucks deliver good heat. Use a 192/195F Stant or Mazda thermostat (you will NOT overheat with that - I use that in Arizona) will deliver more heat than a thermostat with the lower settings.

Since this just happened, we rule out that the heater core suddenly plugged, that cable connection under the dash slipped off, and concentrate on what was just done. These trucks historically have been difficult to bleed all the air out of the system after doing stuff - like you did - to the cooling system. So you need to bleed out all the air. Jack up the front end, take off the radiator cap, and run the engine. Turn the heat on full and keep adding coolant as necessary.

once i get a chance i will fight with this thing to figure out how to post pics, after i get the heater working ill be driving it again and putting in my fuel cell! then on to the 4 link, then the front!!

Ok so its been forever and ive done a little here and ther but mainly just set up the 4 link and got the front end cut up to be plated, but now, as always, plans have changed, ive decided to do an ext cab longbed, stockfloored, with a 4.3/700r4 and im aiming to run 22s all around with full inner fenders, shaved firewall, tucked engine bay, fully powdercoated frame, and a tilt bed to show some of the work. But fir now i need to focus on getting the cab off and measuring everything so i can send off for my mandrel bent frame rails. Oh and Can anybody walk me through posting pictures?

Easiest way is to upload them, check the sticky at top of every forum. And hey you took my idea!! Lol kidding, but the next mazda i pick up is getting a 4.3 vortec and nv3500 manual trans from my current chevy truck. But it will be cranking a supercharger and a 4 link rear for drags.

Ah well then, guess that solves my picture problem lol guess i should have seen thatbefore! And yea the 4.3 just provides so many pros and so little cons, enough power, space, and endless options as far as building or customizing them, but all in all i think im going to leave it fuel injected and just make it look as factory as possible.

Mine will stay fuel injected as well. And i agree, you can buy 350 pistons and valvetrain parts, except the cam and you can get a custom grind cheap.. And build a stout strong motor. And its second rebuild will go just as far as the first life of it. Mines at 226k miles no leaks or issues. And it will loose accessories when dropped into a B. then my full size chevy is getting a carbed 327 or a vortec 327 if i can find one.

Ok so i know there has been a huge lack of updates here, but ive gone through some tough times etc, but luckily havent had to sell my project. (Not that anyone would want it in its current state anyways...) but i had an eventful day that will restart the fire and drive on this thing! I drove around 400 miles tonight, on christmas of all days, to pick up my longbed truck for parts! Soon ill start working on my frame, and have a whole truck again! Pics to come!!!
