Hello, My names Mike.

This may be long...LOL

I live in Anchorage Alaska. I've wanted a Mazda B-2200-2000 ever since High School. I graduated back in 99 so it's been awhile. I've had a few lowered trucks. None have been bagged. A 90 Toyota ext cab, a 87 Dodge Dakota single cab long bed, 97 GMC Sierra Ext cab short bed. It was a green blue paint that changed colors depending on the sun light out, and I've also had a 73 Chevy Long bed single cab in Chevy orange dropped on the ground and a Corvette engine in the engine bay. I've had over 60 vehicles since I was a teenager. I can NOT leave anything alone. My wife's last van had rims, exhaust, and an intake. Had the Toyota dealership give her lots of complements on it...LOL So over the last year my buddy has had a Hard body that he lowered than he got a Titan on bags. Told me about a B2200 he had found for sale for $400, it had been 4 linked, c-notched, and the body drop started. So we went to look at it. Couldn't resist and after going back a second time with a trailer I brought it home. Now saying that the last person had mad skills would be a bold face LIE. It looked good until I got it home. Man was it bad. also I didn't like how close the steering wheel and roof was to my legs and head. So I knew than that a traditional body drop was going to have to be reversed. The plus was that there is a 4 link on it, and a C-notch. It came with a Toyota rear end, and a cowl induction hood. Plus a few other things. After I stripped it I decided another cab and bed was going to have to be found. Not only was the floor hacked off it had previously had the entire back wall and front bed wall cut out for a walk through that I just didn't want to deal with. So I took the cab and bed to the scrap yard. About a month later came across a CL AD for another 1988 Mazda B2200. It was all original with only 118K on the clock. The guy was asking 1200 for it. It had new valve seals, studded tires(useful here in Alaska), new plugs and wires, and a few other things. I went and looked at it and was hooked. Told him I'd try to save up the 1200 as it was right before Christmas. well He was moving very soon and I had only had about $600 after a few weeks with nobody else wanting to buy a 2wd in December in Alaska he called me up and said I'll take $600 if you can get it by Friday. I am very pleased with it. It's a great truck to start with. No dents at all, and only a few minor surface rust spots. The front bumper was bent in from a slight fender bender. Luckily for me the first one came with a perfect chrome front bumper. I have added the crystal HL from the first truck with the chrome bumper and than painted the grill flat black. I also put the tail gate off the first truck on it, it's smoothed with a frenched in license plate pocket. I put in a few of the trim pieces that were painted a nice black to break up the full gray interior. I also have replaced the sending unit and cleaned the gas tank along with a new filter and fuel pump. I also took the black steelies and studded tires off and installed the chrome rims from the first truck. no studs but it makes for sliding around the corners more fun.

So the plan for the trucks so far going to be a Stock Floor Body Drop, and air bags. I also recently got something else to rebuild to put under the hood Can't wait to get started on it. However I'm in the Army and with limited funds I'll be going at it slow. But I try to do as much as I can by myself. I recently had surgery on my wrist so No wrenching for a few months.

Ok so I have been painting a few other interior pieces black. Wish it was warmer so I could sand down the surface rust and primer those spots. Had the truck die on me jumped it bearly got it home. I figured it was the alternator. Nope just the wires broke out of the connectors. Got that fixed for free. Made a deal on a set of rims and tires, 20's Front 22's Back.

Decided that the creeper camper had to go. Also replaced the alternator it was bad. Still has an issue with the wiring though. Gotta figure that out. I also installed the chrome door handles and tinted door windows and wing windows from the first truck. Thinking about trying to tint the original windows darker on my own though.
