I just installed a new weber on my '88 B2200. Just want to hear from you guys who have done this....Did you need a fuel pressure regulator? My gas supply line is leaking a bit & All of my gaskets (even the factory installed one on top of the carb) are soaked with gas. Is this common? Going to the parts store now for a hose clamp and fuel pressure gauge.

A lot of people run Webers without a regulators.
Wet gaskets are not normal... after you fix the hose, make sure all your carburetor screws are tight.

Manual - no
Automatic - yes

Automatics use an in-tank high pressure fuel pump not the same mechanical fuel pump on the manual trucks.

OK appreciate it guys. Turns out truck is way out of time. Need to go back & check TDC & make sure I put everything back together right. I think the leaky hose was wetting the gaskets. After a new hose clamp she was running better & gaskets dried out. It will probably run great when I get the timing right.

I tried running a regulator on my last motor and could never get it adjusted right so I took it off.

you dont need to run a regulator unless its a automatic but even then i dont think so... wet gaskets means unproper tighten of baseplate and carb... take carb off and retighten, do not over tighten because you might strip the bolts.
