So my 16 year old sister is on her way home from work this morning, and I get the call. She's freaking out.

She rearended a mitsubishi galant going over 40 mph and never hit the brakes. the people were from out of town, and they missed their turn and slammed on the brakes, she probably wasnt paying full attention as usual.

She's okay physically, some minor burns from the airbags. One kind of scary thing happened in this wreck that bothers the **** out of me. Can't see it too much in the pics but none of the doors open. The frame "Tweaked" a little, it pushed the frame horns through the front bumper and you can tell they're pointing different directions. Anyways, none of the doors open after this wreck. The accident pushed the core support in and crushed the radiator and fan against the front of the motor. Also pushed the front fenders into the front doors, the front doors came back a lil and damaged the rear hinges keeping the back doors from opening too. Freaky

man.. she tore both those vehicles up... hope everyone is ok!

I got into an accident back in April which is why I have to do a little work when i get a job for my license back.. at least in April. It was raining out... I had a few to srink earlier in the night and a guy from Tampa(when I was still in Ohio) Slammed on the brakes at a yellow light(we both could have made) and i slammed on mine and skidded and just barely tapped him and he called the cops. No damage to my truck and barely any to the rear PLASTIC bumper(if it wasnt there before). I guess myinsurance covered thier claim... doubt they fixed the P.O.S. and prob kept the money.

I hate out-of-town drivers!

it's moms truck. she's a girl scout troop leader and we have trailers. Trust me, every weekend it's loaded up with 10 year olds and usually pulling a camper or boat out to a camping spot. It's not a yuppie mobile, we use it like an suv

Just think, if your mom had her way and you and her had traded cars; your sister would have been driving the lincoln! Glad she's okay.

ford suv's (or any for that matter) aren't as strong as they look. did you know that ford explorers roof's aren't designed to hold even half the weight of the vehicle?

sad. good thing your sister is ok. sisters aren't meant to go before you. at least that's what i think.

they open like a foot if that, maybe 10" she squeezed out, I got in it, I had to force the driver door open to get in it and pull it out of the road, it starts and runs, but I didnt know the fan was smashed between the motor and radiator. she lost alotta fluids, and it smells like an electrical fire inside. Poor truck, I had some "special" moments in that thing when my parents got it haha
