Pulled the bed a few minutes ago. Going to ghetto pipe notch it tomorrow or Sunday. I can't wait to drive it again.

I say static with a body drop and a body drop on the chevy also

Picked up a 4" pipe nipple from Grainger for the notch. I would have preferred a section of pipe, but finding a place to cut me off like 8" was impossible.

Behold my $23 notch and terrible flux core welds. The bed is still off; I'll probably get it back on after work Tuesday.

now do you clear the ubolts at all?i would have made it narrower so the ubolts would go up beside the notch. got some bump stops in mind? even if your sitting on them it will be some cushion lol

The u-bolts fit perfectly into the notch. And no bump stops for me. If it bangs frame, so be it.

Hell yeah man...have you taken any pictures with the bed on, that is if the bed is on yet? Did you get the clearance you wanted now?

The truck only dropped about another 1/2" after I put the bed on. I now have about 1 1/2" clearance between the axle and frame. I tried jumping on the bed; the shocks bottom out before the axle hits frame. So although it will be a pretty crappy ride, it won't be banging frame. I won't get home until late tonight, so pics will have to wait until Thursday evening. I also ended up having to roll the lip on the wheel wells as the tire was making contact on large bumps.
