Just about any spring will do, just make sure it's not "too long". Longer springs will vibrate and you'll feel it in the pedal.

From memory I want to say a 2.5in spring will do.

AutoZone, O'Reilly sell packs of assorted return springs. Likely NAPA and CarQuest would have separate drawers for springs, so you could just get one.

My own came from Ace Hardware, spring#99U (UPC 039008101062, 2 3/8 long x 7/16 o.d., 0.40 wire gauge). So there's the dimensions I use, should be able to find somewhere/something close. Too tight tires out your foot, too loose doesn't "return". That's why I ordered a spare back when.
