I got this truck in on a trade for some fab work on another truck, so I'm building a driver. Sort of. It was a RHD conversion, umm.... abortion? Decent little truck, new motor/ trans, and needed some love.

Got it home, and broke it down...

Simple Green'd all the moss off of it and set the bed back on it...

Built a simplified harness, started routing it, and laying wires where I wanted them.

So here's "The Plan". I've got it running like a top. Starts with the key, but I've got a few very minor electrical gremlins. I think a lot of my issues are in the cluster that has several burned circuits. (was like that when i got the truck). Once the new year gets here I'll get a new MC and get the brakes and clutch operating. I need to finish the mounts for the steering column, mount the gas petal, and fill in the stock holes in the firewall. I've already modified the cross shaft for the steering, just need to get the box and the idler arm swapped and hook up the steering. I need a new steering column, so that's on the list. Once it's a running, driving truck, the fun will begin. I've got a set of snake eye cylinders from Dice suspension, so it will eventually be juiced. The truck is getting a Std. cab bed with a Z'd rear frame section instead of a notch. The bed floor will get raised to accommodate the z, and the body drop via a channel. I'm stoked about this one, I'm just not sure how long its gonna take. I'm still undecided about what I'm going to do about a dash. Ill probably build an oldschool steel dash. Its not getting big wheels. It'll probably get steel wheels and white walls. The ranger headlights and grille have to go too. Its not my style.

This truck looks familiar... Finish it!

I'd've finshed the single cab we had, but we got hard up for cash and it had to move. I'm pretty sure that once I get that new master cylinder in and bleed everything in addition to finishing the steering it'll drive. I also forgot to add that I've all the toyota stuff to swap over to, so there's that!

If the ranger headlights are in good shape, I may have interest in them if you plan to sell them at some point (assembly and wiring/plugs).....Thanks

So we've all seen this before, but I spent the morning tearing it down and devising a plan.

Since this truck came with everything to do the toyota swap, I'm seeing that through. With that said, expect to see a custom set of control arms. As much as I need to keep this a low budget build, I'd spend more time modifying the factory's for the toyota balljoints and the cylinders. Also, as much as i want the pinch to kiss the ground, its not feasible since I'm strictly building this truck to sell. I am however z'ing the frame enough to get the frame flat on the ground. I'll lower the motor mounts to keep the motor in place. My plan is to cut the front clip out of the chassis and carry it up to the shop to do all my fab work. Crazy. Yes, but its best for my situation lol.
