So I figured I'd start a project thread to keep all my data/photos in one place. Some of you may have seen/read my intro thread, so I wont repeat the process about buying the truck etc. I will provide basic details, and the only photos I still have (Since I haven't made any changes).

Truck: 1987 Mazda B2200; Purchased 4/28/2015 with 43,000 Miles.

Today I gave her a little tune up; new plugs/wires, new air filter, and new fuel filter. Tomorrow she will get an oil/filter change. I'm also planning on doing a power steering install, as the manual steering is a little annoying for me, and I imagine it will get worse when I upgrade the wheels to a larger/wider setup.

Im going to pickup these wheels off a Chevy Colorado zq8 later this week.. They aren't all too common and came on the zq8 packages from about '04-09 until zq8's came equipped with the "Xtreme" double 6 spokes.

They are 17x8 and have the same annoyingly large hub as our trucks. I used to have a colorado so I am very familiar with the platform, and always said I would put these on a lowered one, which I had a lifted 4x4.

This was my 04 Colorado z71 4x4.. man I loved this truck, still have no idea why I sold it, regret it everyday.

Once those wheels are on, I'll wrap them in a 205/50/17 or something similar and then just do a basic 2/3 drop (Blocks and Re-Indexed Torsions). Im still undecided if I will leave the wheels silver or paint them a bronze color.

Once the wheels/drop are completed, I'm going to send the truck for paint. I know, the paint isn't in bad shape, but my primary vehicle ('12 F150 4x4) is silver and I've never cared for silver vehicles, so having 2 of them is a no-no. Im leaning towards the mazda bluish grey I've seen on the mazda speed 3's..

As of right now, thats about it! But, I've owned and modded vehicles before so I know what that means.....

Those wheels should look good. You might think about putting slightly taller tires in the back than you run in the front. The rear wheel wells on these trucks are taller that the front, so if you have the same gap between the tire and wheel well, the truck will be lower in the back than the front. I never liked that look.
As for Silver, I hate Silver. I always thought there should be a deduct in the blue book for Silver. I could count on one hand with fingers left over the number of vehicles I've seen in Silver that I liked. The color you posted that you want to paint yours is good looking.

Won't make you forget the other truck, but you are truckin', just make this one better.
I resemble that regret, mine is the '77 Smokey & Bandit 6.6 TA TransAm I sold in '81.
