HELP!! Taillights no workie

Alright, I installed some bulbs in my 4runner bumper that made my gauges and taillights fuse blow, so I unplugged them and have been driving it. But tonight I noticed the gauges were flickering and I pulled into a gas station and saw my taillights were out, bulbs were fine just no power goin to them, well they burnt one of the wires going to the tail fuse. So I pulled the box out and stripped them and put them together and I smelt it burning but tail lights didn't work and gauges did untill I pulled the wires apart. Now, is there anything I can do or is there a way to hardwire my tails to a switch and to the brake(the turns and reverse still work) I just wouldn't know how to wire it to the brake so when I push the brake it brightens???? Please someone help!!! I hate never being able to drive my bagged truck cause it keeps f**n up, btw it's a 90 b2200

sounds like theres a short in the wires, have you ever cut the wires or nicked them at anytime,sounds like the ground and power are touching and blowin fuses and meltin wires,look into that first then if you dont see anything try jumping from further up the harness and see if it still blows fuses

did you recently bag your truck? if your lights worked properly before you bagged it mazdaman82 has the right idea that some part of your harness from Cab back got nicked and causing the fuse to blow . You might have to get another harness from cab back (junkyard or here in classifieds)

yeah i just bagged it. but i think the bulbs burnt it cause i swapped my turns to the corner lights and the runnin light wiring wasnt meant to handle the wattage and burnt it... so idk i think that is whats up. and there is NO mazdas at any junkyard around here. i have the only b series in like a 60 mile radius.. except for josh (bodied2600ixx) i think is his name on here. and hes using his shit lol. he'll help but hes always workin.i just got fed up and wanna hardwire it lol

man i'm in about the same boat you are, except I got NO idea why my lights dont work, got no tails, dash or running up front, all fuses good lol, do your brake lights work? that wasnt clear to me if they do or not, if the brake lights work you can hardwire the tails to a switched power that comes on with the key, or to a switch, which is what i'm in the process of doing now with mine.
