i have a 100 amp gm 1 wire altenator i have it installed but im not sure what to do with the plug from the stock alt. can i just leave it? I think the gm alt has everything internally? will the battery light come on and stay on in the dash? i kno a few people have them what do you guys do with it?

hey andy,
on the altenator plug, one wire will be ignition turn on and the other with be for the dummy light on the dash, i pretty sure you dont have to hook them up to anything, it should work just fine hooking up the main power to it

I never hooked up the plug and didnt have any problem. Just ran a big power wire from the alt to the bat.

all i did was mount it upside down just need to get some longer bolts. i used the same bracket just spaced it out a bit and didnt need to change the belt either

Just so you know that simply flipping it upside down and bolting it down is not a great idea. Thats how i ran mine for awhile and it ended up breaking the mounting tab off of the alternator because of the torq of the belt twisting it. Need to put some kind of bracing to the back to keep it from twisting. Just a word of advice.
