ok, Im not certain but i think it may be my turn signal indicator switch that is shot. but I have lost my turnsignals, but my 4 ways (hazards) still work. I have also lost my fuel guage, tachometer, and temp guage. all these went out at the same time. I was just wondering if the instrument cluster could be tied into the indicator switch. any help on this situation would be great. i have researched on the net and have come up with nothing. next step is to call mazda if i cant get any help here.....

First things first check the fuse box wiggle the fuses. Look at your factory grounds. What did you do last to the truck i.e. new radio, amp install, blown out bulb, etc. Go for the obvious. Your gauges not working could mean you also lost ignition power somewhere. Grab a meter or testlight and start lookin. I know someone here posted the pdf file of the wiring in the workshop manual if you can not find it pm me.

check your tranny reverse wires off the tranny sounds dumb but they are tied in.to your guages and lights make sure it hasnt ground out any where

OK, so I have been trouble shooting these issues for a long time and couldn't find anything. I eventually started replacing the cheaper parts thinking maybe it was a fluke and they all went out at the same time. But to no avail, it didn't work. I finally broke down and called Mazda. They helped me trace the issues back to the Engine Control Module (ECM).

Needless to say, the ECM is no longer manufactured or sold (junk yard part only). GOSH I HATE HAVING AN OLDER TRUCK SOMETIMES!!!!!!

Anyways, does anyone have one (ECM) laying around that is not needed. Hit me up if you @ 757-593-2122 if you do. Its gonna be for a 86 Mazda b2000 with a production date of March 1st 1985 of before. I'm willing to pay to have it shipped also. But please be sure it works properly though. i don't wanna pay for a POS that is broken or burnt up.

I spent thousands to fix an emissions issue that ended up being a corroded terminal on the ECM. Check them all very closely and you may find the issue. They are mounted in an area that can rot out so moisture can be a problem for them.

Retrace the Yellow w/blue striped wire from the ignition coil all the way to the "combination meter". It looks like that wire is the hot for the tach, fuel gauge, temp gauge into the meter.
If theres other indicators not working, let me know. There's also several grounds that you should probably go through with a fine toothed comb

FREAKIN MAZDAS...... Been having this problem since November. I looked at the filament on the fuse and it looked intact, so i didnt bother with a continuity test. Come to find out it was a faulty fuse this whole time. DAMN I FEEL LIKE AN ASS NOW..........
