Ok, now Ive got a question for everyone. I just heard as a rumor that you can narrow a mazda rear diff an inch, cut the axles an inch and still have enough splines to use the factory axles? Has anyone ever done this? Please let me know!

Heres the quote I got just incase that didnt make sense. "I've heard RUMORS that you can take a factory Mazda rear end and narrow it an inch and there's enough splines on the factory shaft to allow you to cut them down"

Nobody?

why would you ever want to only take off just a inch? if your going to do that much work to narrow a rearend do alot of inches and add the mickeys and tubs

That may be all I need to do. I was just curious to see if any one has done it to see if this rumor is true.

I guess you could do that but you could just get the rearend out of a nissan pathfinder and put it back in the rear. its like 1 1/2 inches shorter than stock on each side and comes with disks in the back which is a nice up grade.

I got mine out of a 1994 nissan pathy v6 auto.

does 2wd or 4wd matter on those? Just want to make sure I find the right one.

I do believe that all pathys are 4x4 and the nice thing is you have alot more gear ratios with that rearend too. No problem bro.
