What's up guys? My b2200 is runing like crap when first start her up runs ok and by ok I mean won't idle by its self have to always feather the gas or on a rare day it will idle but so high wish that it wouldn't , but that's not the prob now the damn thing will run ok for a wile then out of no were it will just start to cut out real bad die and not start unless u completly choke it with ur hand but as soon as u remove hand nothing. I can't figure it out replaced every thing from filter, pump, carb, cap and button, plugs and wires still the same thing. I did notice that when it is having one of its fits the sight glass for the bowl is empty. Can any one help love my mazda but over her probs.

Bagged, bodied and shaved b2200

check your fuel filter, and you might want to ditch that stock carb. sounds like its junked up, get you a weber carb, then you can delete all the emission controls. should run like a dream.

I hav already removed all the emission crap and put another stock carb to see if it would help but didn't help at all. I hav a buddie that has a couple of mazdas the he removed all of his emission stuff and his ran fine so don't think that is the prob. I'm gonna try a new electric pump see if that helps but other than that no more ideas.

If there is not fuel in the sight glass, you obviously are not getting enough fuel pumped into the carb. If there is rust in the tank, it may plug a new fuel filter quickly. There may also be rust inside the carb clogging something up.

The sock in the tank may be plugged. You will need to tilt the bed and pull the sending unit/suction tube out to check the sock.

An electric pump will be nothing more than a band-aid. The mechanical fuel pump on these engines will supply more than enough fuel.

If you have removed all of the emissions stuff but are still running the stock carb, that's the wrong way to go about it.
The stock carb HAS TO HAVE all the emission junk to operate the way it was designed to do.......that said, I don't think that is the biggest problem you have here.....I would pull the bed off and have a look inside your gas tank......you may have some problems in there if the truck sat for a while at anytime in it's life.

Here is what a rusty tank looks like, and what will find it's way into the carb! BTW, this is all from the same truck.
