im looking at picking up a 89 b2200 this weekend.
The motor has been rebuilt and just had a new paintjob, but the problem is
the current owner says that the truck only gets up to 50km/h.
i was wondering if anybody has any ideas what could be causing this and how i could go abouts fixing it ?
thanks in advance

Partially clogged fuel filter, rust in the fuel tank?

What size wheels/tires are on it? I have trouble getting high speed when the large tires are on the truck. Maybe just my B, but I thought I might mention it just in case.

Sounds like a clogged catalytic converter, or maybe the timing wasn't set right during the rebuild?

50km/h... are you sure they'll know what you're talking about?

Could be many things, you'll just have to go over there, give it a rev, give it a drive and ask the seat of your pants what they reckon.

I had power issues with mine after the rebuild. It ended up being the muffler was collapsed and both cats were clogged. Yanked all the stock exhaust out and put a pacesetter, new muffler and 2" pipe on it all the way back. No cat. Now it runs like a raped ape...not really...but it does have a bit more power!
