its just two very long bolts and a strap at the top

most auto part stores have them for under 10 bucks comes with the two bolts and top part.

i figured thats what it was but i'd like to see where they attach. i couldn't really find any slots in the battery tray for j-bolts.

ok so i bought one from kragen but it was such a pos i decided to make one. while i was at it i replaced my starter wire, ground wires and battery.

Nice work!

That's what I would have suggested since all you can buy are crappy pieces at the local shops. I bought a $6 "rubber" kit at Advance only because I wanted to get mine on the road last summer - and I had an old battery with lots of corrosion so I didn't want to contaminate a new metal part... I suspect my rubber kit won't last and I'll have to do something similar - since I've since replaced the old battery.

That's one thing I've noticed about these trucks, there is no such things as "just bolt it on". You end up making things or making unintentional items work.

ya that rubber one is the one i bought, what a POS. all it was good for was the j-bolts.

Mine also looks like this, used the top mount as purchased at discount parts store, and used two long J-bolts, one of which I hacksawed shorter. I smear a little wheel bearing grease on the threads and wingnuts so they don't rust or corrode, same with the battery terminal nuts/bolts.

i junked the tie down that came with the kit and just used the j-bolts in the pic. i don't like using grease because its messy, if i get corrosion i just clean it and use corrosion preventative spray.
