Did your PCV valve come apart??? That front hose is what houses the PCV valve, and it consists of a cylinder shaped cone with a nipple. It has a ball bearing inside, and acts as a stopper valve, to allow air to flow through and the ball stops the liquid oil from getting sucked into your air cleaner. Post a pic. to help me understand what hose you are talking about?
From your descrition though, it sounds as though you just need a new PCV valve, and probably a new air filter now too. Check to see if there is oil leaking from the valve cover too, cause sometimes it slips out of the cover when installing. It is best to use a lite amount, very little silicone, on the valve cover side groove to help the gasket stay in that groove during assembly to the head. Good luck and take some pics?
