Here is said part and you want see it because it is under the top plate of the carb and can only be removed by taking the carb top half off.I purchased this part for 136.00 from " target="_blank some may suggest rebuilding or go weber over cost of part.Idk I am keeping mine as is,and this site does sell refurbished stock carbs as well.Part number was MCS-10. mixture control solenoid.I soley rebuilt half my carb, new gaskets, and cleaned, new float seats, plunger parts, etc. This is for my 87 b2200 the b2000 has a different carb to a degree in case you did not know.Hope this helps.

Are the carbs interchangeable? Can i use my 87 2.0 carb on a 90 2.2 motor?

**sorry to thread jack**

Low n slow Umm I would think that a swap would work 87-90.However the b2000 has a touch different carb(looks the same, works etc) but some very mild differences between the 2000 versus 2200 carb.I know it is soley internals like the jets bc of the minut diff btwn the 1998cc over 2184cc.You could try and not sure if the b2 has a diff ecm for emissions over the b22.I do know there are two diff carb kits between the two for sure!Unless someone chimes in maybe ask axel breaker earl pm.

Yeah, you should be able to use it but there will be a few emission hookups that will be different and some vacuum hose routing will differ slightly, but it will bolt up just fine.

Here's what the mixture control solenoid looks like when you tear it apart.......don't do this to a good one, it won't be "good" anymore!

I grabbed this one from the JY because someone tried to remove the top of the carb and broke the wires and mounting flange out of it, so I figured it was the perfect one to tear apart!

It's basically an electromagnetic solenoid that moves a spring loaded plunger that opens a jet and lets the fuel flow through it..... if it gets dirty on the inside I'm sure it will hinder it's performance which could cause the computer to enter limp mode.
