hey guys,
I have a 1988 b2200 with stock carb. I have to keep this thing idled up to keep it from knocking off when i come to a stop. It doesnt matter if the cluch is pushed in or if i put it in neutrel. sometimes it does it even tho its idled high. also sometimes if i press the brakes hard coming to a stop it knocks off.
any help would be great,

thanks

Cody

"Idled up"?
There is an idle speed adjustment screw that you can change if need be.
Do a search on here and there is probably a picture

Yes, I had to turn the idle screw way up to keep it from stalling every time i come to a stop. i dont have a tach but it sounds like its idling about 1500 rpm

Sounds like gunk in the carb - try carefully spraying in some carb cleaner into the open carb throat while it is running, with the air cleaner off. Also run a can of SeaFoam through the tank. I did that on mine and it helped a lot. Standard idle is about 850 - 750rpm.
