Just alittle clarification.. not saying jabba is wrong but there is more to it.. shorty tanks only fit shortys.. and there is a different between the two.. the auto and injected tanks are the same but the carb tanks are different.. you can make it work either way but you have add/subtract vacuum expansion canisters..and the auto/injection tanks have a different baffle inside... the extended cab and longbed tanks do not exactly interchange..you could put a extended cab tank in a longbed but you can't put a longbed tank in an extended cab..the floor on the extended cab doesn't allow for the room the longbed tank needs..and its the same with the fuel injection issue that the shortys have.. the injected and auto trucks (2.0,2.2 autos with carbs) and all the 2.6 injected trucks use an injection specific tank.. if its just a regular carbed, stick 2.2 than the sender will interchange with no problem from 89 to a 93 tank as long as its a carbed tank you'll be fine.. you could swap a carbed 2.2 sender into a later injected tank too.. just have to plug up the extra vent/vacuum ports...
Not trying to act as a know it all.. I just deal with this a lot while building trucks.
