Had some of the day today free, so I pulled my truck up to my garage at home and did the upper control arm bushings. Shot time lapse basically and highlighted the steps of the drivers side. Hope it helps...
Some of the time lapse sections look somewhat suggestive with my ratcheting the rusted bolts...Good laugh, indeed.
*Jack and support vehicle; Unlike what I do
*Remove wheel
*Remove rubber dust shield from over control arm
*23MM socket to remove rear bushing from wheel well
*On Drivers side, remove steering shaft and flex joint.
*Remove FWD bushing from engine bay
*Remove two 17MM bolts holding shaft to frame
*Save camber shims
*Grease threads and bushings of new assembly. Install dust boots
*Install new shaft, camber shims and the torque bolts to 60FT/lb
*Assemble control arm onto shaft and install the two bushings.
*Evenly tighten FWD and AFT bushings. Get them tight, you'll feel a sharp rise in torque.
You don't want a gap between the bushing and outside edge of the control arm.
*Install steering shaft, rubber covers and wheels.
