I have a 1990 Mazdz B-2200 2.2 L 5-speed with a factory carb and the vacuum lines are incorrect. Its drinking gas so Ineed to know what vacuum lines I can block off and it still run ok or how to straighten out the lines and maby figure out why it wont hold idle. thanks or look me up on face book under jimmy whitehead from maryville TN

The factory carbs on 2200s are not known f0r being fuel efficient, especially with age. A better bet would be to do a Weber carb or similar mod.Plenty of how-tos on this site. With a Weber the only vacuum line needed is the manifold vac for advance and for braking. All else can go.I did keep my charcoal cannister hooked up cause I dont like gas fumes.bj

Im going to buy a weber carb for my b-2200 stock motor, does anyone know which carb I should buy to where i dont have to change anything for it to bolt up the same such as fuel line, vacuum, etc etc.

If ur 2200 is stock, the 34/34 is all u will need.U will need the vacuum line for the distributer advance, a vacuum line for the brake booster, the hot wire for the electric choke, and the accelerator wire.I kept my charcoal canister wired up cause I dont like gas smell in the cab,but all else can go.bj

I'm happy with my Weber 32/36 DGEV from Redline Weber on my B2200 (1988), Since Dec. 2005.

Go big or go home bro! Weber 38/38 Is the way to go IMO especially if u plan on any other mods. I've seen both an increase on power and mpgs.

2200s dont have points per se. They have a rotor button instead.Yes, any worn ignition parts --dist cap, rotor button, plugs and wires and dist cap can lead to poor performance. So can a stopped up PCV valve and a stopped up fuel filter. I replace all that stuff on my 2200 every year and avoid the poor performance issues.bj
