So my little truck (91 b2200) was smoking blue smoke when i first started it up, so i put new valve guild seals in it,bu now it still smokes blue smoke only when i first start it wtf? I was wondering if i did something wrong or what ? was i suppose to soak the seals first?should i have done something special? any thoughts from you guys I haven't messed with these motors much they seem pretty basic I replaced the timing belt, water pump, radiator, the truck runs great except for the blue smoke at start.any help?

Is it REALLY COLD where you are?
That can cause them to contract new or not, check to see if anyone else is blowing a little blue smoke around the neighborhood.
You can soak them, but I thought that was more for getting the little buggers to slide more than anything

Well done in any regard!

Maybe Rings?

IF it is your valve guide seals, it may take awhile to stop the smoking. but with these trucks, if rings havent been done yet, they would surely help to.
