Guys,

I remember reading a thread either here, on Mazdatrucking, or maybe Streetsource about the correct way to set up the rear end pinion angle at ride height. And being able to figure it out if you've got a one piece drive shaft or a two piece. It was a thread with an easy to understand drawing which took all the positive and negative degree angles, equated them and figured the final angle for the rear end.

If someone knows where to find that link, that would be awesome, I'm trying to set up the rearend of my project "Green Machine" before welding on the airbag tabs.

You probably already know it needs to be more or less at the same angle as the transmission so it is a straight line from your axle flange to the tail of the transmission. You usually make the angle at the axle flange 1-2 degrees negative to account for bushing flex under load.

It's less strain on the driveline if you locate your link mounts so that the distance between the lower and upper link mounts on the rear is greater than the distance between the upper and lower links on the frame provided it is a forward link setup. This helps the angle change as the truck is lowered/lifted.

You can cheat and draw lines from the upper link mounting point to mounting point. Then do the same for the lower link. They should cross at the point of your transmission output shaft.

Hope this helps, I know a drawing would probably do a better job.
