what all needs to be done to hook up the cruise control. theres a 4-wire harness that plugs into the back of the cruise control unit. where do those wires go? I got everything mounted but theres no wires provided by this truck for cruise control so I gotta run my own wires and need to know where to run the wires from the cruise unit itself under the hood. what wire goes to coil, what wires go to the switches? ect

Read this, it will get you started. If you have the 4 prong plug in the engine compartment for the actuator your truck main harness should be wired for Cruise - just plug in the brain above the drive side kick panel. Like mine your dash may not be wired for cruise.

thanx, my truck is an se-5 with no cruise connections what so ever, ive compared it to my wrecked lx that had cruise installed, and the lx has the 4 prong plug for cruise under the hood, my se-5 doesn't. no connection there. so im starting from scratch and understand that I will probly have to run my own wires.

also no connection for cruise switch or brain that im aware of. I basically need to run my own wire loom for ALL of it. and I gotta swap my cluster. probly just forget this project and move on, that's too much shit for a switch and a diaphragm imo. plus then I have to go and make an adapter for my weber. just too much shit

I'd go aftermarket and sell off the OEM stuff. There is also a difference in Carbed versus EFI cruise setups... I knew I had the main harness connections so when I found an OEM setup I bought it - I wouln't have otherwise. Dan

i would go after market but i have no money for it, hours got cut so im out of money by pay day every week. both trucks were carbed, but the truck im trying to switch it to doesn't have the main harness connections for the switch or the wiper arm/signal assembly or the actuator. i don't even think the harness for the "brain" is there after looking under, above and beyond the driver kick panel. the wires simply are not there. so again id have to run my own wires and who knows what kind of mess ill end up with so, probably going to leave this one alone.
