I recently purchased an 89 b2200, first one I have ever owned...and for some reason I cant get the driveshaft to disconnect from the rearend. I removed the 4 bolts, and I assumed with a little sweat and effort it should disconnect? I don't know if I am completely missing something, but she isn't budging...

Is your drive shaft the two piece type since you didn't mention the year or body style? If it is try removing the center mount with the rubber mount that looks like a doughnut ( donuts from dunkin donuts ). Then whack away with the rubber mallet. Also have a catch pan ready if you remove it the gear oil might seep out of the rear of manual transmission, assuming the truck is a manual transmission.

Use a sledge and a cold chisel to separate them.
