Has anybody else noticed that the lock hardware on these trucks is. Well...

Awful?

My truck can be Unlocked from the outside, and started (from steering wheel lock) with practically anything. I have noticed that both times I saw a mazda in the scrapyard, the same issue was present.

Also, my keys have a tendency to fall out of the keyswitch while driving

Is this just because of age and wear, or are other members having the same trouble with their trucks?

Either way, does anybody have a way to fix this?

Thx

To me that just sounds like an aging ignition switch, or maybe some just had faulty switches in them? I'm not sure on either things just curious observations. also i've had mine now for a few days it's an 88 b2200 and my only issue is getting the key to turn. someone half assed a steering wheel on and i think they messed with the position of the uhm... sorry id don't know the technical term, but the point at which the locked key is released and able to be turned and start the vehicle. lol i have to jiggle the wheel back n forth a few times but that's my only issue. haven't had it want to fall out yet and i have a few key rings an such on my key.
