Hi Bscene,

What is everyone running for performance brakes? I'm not looking to go with a crazy big brake kit but I need some better stopping power.

I have recently added a ton of weight to the truck with the camper, bed interior, grill guard, bigger tires, etc. and noticed that my braking has suffered.

I have a mountain pass that I take a few times a week and am now starting to get a little brake fade going down the hills.

I was planning on getting some slotted only rotors that had good reviews and some performance pads, I know from experience with my RX7 not to go with drilled rotors (Cracked on this same mountain pass) so Rotors are not my main issue here.

What are some good performance pads for these trucks?

Also are there any Calipers that are a direct swap to the B's brakes? Maybe RX7 dual piston calipers or 4 piston Yota calipers, etc? Has anyone tried this?

Hey, i'm actually getting ready to swap on some royalty rotors cross drilled/slotted rotors. Was yours just off road use causing the cracking? ( drilled rotors are known for this around my area) I'm not gonna be hitting any heavy passes or anything that nature. but would i need be worried with this type?

Here's where i'm going through for my rotors, idk if they have pads i haven't looked but I imagine they would. and if you have big enough inner wheel space maybe you could do a chevy rotor swap if they are the bushings styles in some year idk! sorry just suggestions.

I will be using slotted brake rotors off ebay from ABT (advanced braking technology) I called and asked who manufactures there rotors and they told me they buy blank rotors from Centric Brakes and machine them for slotted or drilled then plate them with Zinc. Centric has a lot of great reviews for their brakes so I will be buying these in the near future.

They also sell drilled and slotted rotors for our trucks... The reason I like these slotted rotors is that they are machined to the lip of the rotor and not just on the contact surface area this will help to keep the channels clean and from clogging with brake dust.

In my experience with drilled rotors when my RX7 rotors cracked they broke apart and messed up my brand new (at the time) 18" rims, they were Brembo drilled and slotted rotors. I only had around 5000 miles on them. Brembo ended up paying for my new rim and repairs to my 7... after a lot of headache that is. I will never go drilled rotors again, even with a lower performance situation like my B. The performance is negligible for a street car/truck.

Slotted rotors are more than enough for a daily driver/ medium performance application.

After the whole Brembo situation with my 7, I went with dimpled and slotted rotors and they were fine, plus I even was able to turn the rotors on the lathe. You can turn slotted/drilled rotors on a lathe if you are using round cutting bits and not the triangle type... I have turned many drilled/ slotted rotors using these round cutting bits on a brake lathe with no problems.

I am mainly looking for some decent pads that will pair well with these rotors, I might just go with some ceramic pads though. Any suggestions on pads?

Thanks
