I have a 91 B2600i that has never given me any problems until now. I drove it to work (ran just fine) then hours later went to go home but my truck wouldn't start. It cranks over but doesnt catch or sputter. I have fuel coming from the fuel filter so I pulled a few plugs to check for spark and there is nothing there! I pulled the coil and the ignition control and had them checked, but they passed. I pulled the distibutor cap to check for water and dirt, but its clean!!!! I've seen that the ECU is a problem with these trucks, so i pulled it and took the cover off of it. I didn't see anything that looked abnormal. All the fuses under the dash by the steering wheel look good!
Please hook a dude up with any tips that could get my rig back on the road!

Make sure that the electrical part of the ignition switch didn't go bad, these are known for that.

Do you have cluster warning lights on when key is on? Stereo on?

Sucker will still crank just fine, different circuit.

My truck doesn't have a stereo, but other than that I havent noticed anything different with the truck. It just quit running.

How can I check the electrical part of the ignition switch?

I figured it was the coil or the control module but I had them checked at the local autozone. Is there some kind of ignition fuse on the truck?

Turn the key to the run position and check for power at the positive terminal on the coil.

Ok I'm back!
So I tested my truck for 12 volts at the coil, good to go! Factering that my coil and ignition control mod all passed bench test at autozone, I installed a new distributor. I made sure the new distributor was installed the same way the old one came out. And still I have zero spark!!!! I pulled spark plugs to check for spark, and there is nothing at all! Do you guys have any ideas as to where my spark went? I'm starting to wonder if the computer crapped out. When I bought my truck the guy told me he had replaced the computer and the mass airflow sensor because it wasn't running right.
It kinda blows my mind that my truck ran great prior to this!

So the ignition coil was bench tested and passed. Do you have spark on the wire from the coil to the distributor cap as you crank the engine? Disconnect the coil wire from the distributor cap and check for spark there first...

I checked that when I first started trouble shooting, and if I remember right, it was 12 volts. I'll check again tonight.
When I first started trouble shooting this problem I figured the coil was bad, because I had no spark at the spark plugs or the main wire off the coil going to the distributor. But after having all that stuff tested I was lost. The guy at autozone was saying if the pickup in the distributor was shot it wouldn't send the signal to the coil to fire. So I went with the distributor because the pickup was damn near the same price as just replacing the whole distributor.
I opened up the new distributor and the internals of it looks different than the original, so I'm not sure if that might be an issue.

Do you have a spare ECU or MAF sensor to replace the OEM parts for trouble isolating?
