89 B2200 with less than 500 miles on a full rebuild. I have owned this truck for 11 years now and one thing has always made me question my sanity a bit. How much pressure should the radiator hoses have on them 5-10 min after a cold start? New water pump, t-stat, 2 row aluminum radiator, 16' electric fan. The truck does not run hot, I run the stock temp gauge and a Equus electric temp gauge (lost faith in the stock one) and the temp doesn't go over 200 during summer months. No oil in the water or water in the oil, head gasket was tightened correctly after a few heat cycles when I installed the new engine. After letting it run for 5-10 min you can't squeeze the hoses very much if any at all. It has always done this since I have owned it. All parts check fine during a pressure test. So if anyone has an idea please let me know.

16psi orr whatever your rad cap is rated for. Seems normal to me once the system pressures up from expansion.

The pressure in your cooling system is determined by the radiator cap. For example, if you have a 13 lb. cap, the pressure in the hose shouldn't exceed that. As soon as you start building heat in the engine, the cooling system pressure will rise. If your fluids aren't mixing, and the temp stays where it belongs, without boil-over, you're looking good.

Good, now I will be all set once I fix the fluctuating idle on my Weber.
