License Plate wiring...harness was cut!

Hello all,

I am trying to wire up my license plates lights again...my harness was cut in half while off road.

I can't friggin figure out how to wire it..e.x which wires to tap into on the light harness.

I'm assuming the black wire on the license light goes into the BLACK wire on the rear lights harness...and I thought the other red/green wire would tap into the red/black wire..but nothing, notta!

This is very frustrating!

p.s. I can't find my stinking in test light, so I can't just tap into the wires and see what is live or not

You need to find a test light, verify good bulbs in the fixtures, use a multimeter, or have a schematic on hand. Otherwise you're just shooting in the dark.

If your taillights work, tap into the power wire for those. And light fixture to ground. Red/black wire is positive. Black is ground.

Yep cuss is right, I just jumpered to that wire for my lp light
