So I've been tossing around the idea of putting an 8.8 " Ford rear end under my B2000 for a while now and was curious if anyone has done this. I have currently one out of a fox body Mustang and this might just work well because I can weld on leaf spring perches (I would more than likely would have to do this anyway due to most Ford lead sprung axles having the perch on top instead of bottom) and have someone setup the pinion angle as well then get a custom driveshaft. Also. This is a long bed with a 2 piece driveshaft not sure how that affects things. And I am also trying to match the width as close as I can to stock.

Donovan.

I am putting a 8.8 irs in my truck. The 8.8 solid axle will be too wide. But thats an easy fix and a driveline shop can make a driveline for u.

Like out of 89' and up Thunderbird? I'll have to measure the width of the Mustang one but I think it's close to the Mazda axle and yeah but the pinion angle concerns me on it.

Ya its a 97. Had to take 7" out of it

How did you get that to mount up? Different cv axle length? That's cool. I would really like to see pictures of it.
