I have a strange question hopefully you guy could help me. I just rebuilt my engine on my 1993 B2200 myself and i had great success runs great and passes California smog only issue i have is that after i replaced my engine my heater temp knob inside my cab wont go passed the middle the arrow only stops were the blue and red colors meet together so the knob only has temp adjustment on the blue section and wont let me turn it all the way right to the red section therefore on cold mornings i cant warm up the cab. before all this i also noticed that when i had the fresh are vent on and had my blower motor on and had the temp adjustment knob all the way left facing the blue section the air would still blow significantly warm, keep in mind that i don't have ac this truck is a base model. Any help would be great thanks.

I do not have pics to illustrate the temp control knob but,I am guessing your control behind the hvac cluster is either stuck or broken or maybe the cable is not attached correctly.I am pretty tired but to fix this is fairly easy.I may touch base with another member who has plenty of pics of said part to check later this week.

I'd stick my head under the dash and look toward the center (sorry, can't remember which side of the hump to lay down on), have helper rotate that knob so you can watch and see which one is "partially" moving.

Then I'd disconnect the cable end, and see if the knob can then rotate fully.

I think your two temperature problems are connected/related. When it seems to be in the blue range, it's really partially opening the heater.

Here is where the Fresh/Recirc cable connects behind the glove box... I pointed here so you can see what kind of wire you are looking for on the driver-side of the heater box near the drivers right foot.

Picture 15 on that post is the temp selector and the next picture is the vent selector cable hook up. The next picture is how to unhook them. you can move the lever and see if it's making the full motion to operate all the flaps and doors.

If your system won't work past the mid point it's either broken of blocked in some way. You can see all the plastic parts on the side of the heater core, one of those may be broken but I'd start by looking at the cables and levers in the dash first.

PS. The thread I pointed you to is a How-To remove the dash which you may want to do so you could fix anything else back there.
